Since 1969 we have been providing silver recovery services to the health care, industrial and photographic industries. We manufacture and service the Ecolution Product Line and offer refining services to all types of silver-bearing filters and cells. We offer filter replacements for QuickSilver cartridges, silver maker cells and silver windows.
It is essential to recycle and recover silver since it is a scarce earth resource and it would be a shame to have it wasted in a landfill. Once the silver is recovered from X-Ray film, it can be repurposed for industries such as medical, military, aerospace, and others.
Do you still have a room for X-Ray medical records? Our team will come and purge your files based upon your criteria and give you back your space. All paper records are shredded, and all the information from the X-Ray is washed clean during the wash process. We continue to recycle more than 1 million lbs of X-Ray and Industrial X-Ray film each year.

What is silver recovery?
Silver recovery is the process of taking x-ray film and extracting pure metallic silver from it. It is an effective process as it is now possible to extract 99.9% of the silver found inside the X-Ray film. In the past, silver salts were used as part of the image-producing process when creating a radiographic film. Now, most media has been converted to a digital medium, but there are still libraries that are filled with old x-ray film.
Here at ECS Cares we “wash” the film, a process where we shred film and wash it with a chemical reagent. All information on the films are washed away during the process, and the silver is removed.
