EST (ENVIRONMENTAL SETTLING TANK)

The EST tank utilizes the film processor’s existing effluents (fixer and developer) and treats them in a unique way to meet current MOE compliance standards. Both photo chemicals enter the EST tank simultaneously of each other creating a blended solution which when mixed together creates a chemical reaction. This settling reaction is now happening in your EST Tank instead of in your drain. The metallic iron and other chemicals precipitate out of the blended solution and form a sludge which settles within the EST Tank. These chemicals neutralize each other and co-mingle together before entering your drain.

The EST tank comes in 2 main sizes. The taller system requires a small transfer pump for the developer to be pumped into the EST tank. The tall cylinder allows for proper settling and collection of the chemical sludge so it doesn’t enter your drain or plug your lines. This unit will work well on its own, however is complemented with a QDW to ensure no drain problems occur with the overflow of liquid to the drain.
